Vice President
Bernie completed her training in CIT Cork in 1992 and since then has professionally progressed from her role as an Accommodation Supervisor to Accommodation Manager. Bernie is the current Accommodation Manager in the Great National South Court Hotel.
Bernie has been a member of the IASI for several years and is our current Vice President. Bernie sums up her experience “Being part of the organisation has given me the opportunity to meet new people working in the same field which allows us to share our knowledge and experiences.”
Secretary
Madeleine Dermody is current secretary of the IASI along with various other roles she takes under her remit. Madeleine has served on the Council since 2019.
Madeleine is an associate member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Development and holds both Management and Human Resource
Management Degrees.
Madeleine began her career in hospitality in 1998 working in various hotels
local to Westport. Madeleine has spent a large portion of her career working within Accommodation Departments. Starting as an accommodation assistant and gaining promotion through the years to Accommodation Manager. Madeleine is incredibly proud to have led her team to achieve the IASI award for Excellence every consecutive year while in her management post and in 2014 was a finalist in the 4-star Awards Category.
Madeleine currently works as the Human Resources Coordinator at Westport
Estate.
Assistant Secretary
Fiona is the Accommodation Manager at The Lodge at Ashford Castle. The lodge at Ashford Castle is a 64-bedroom hotel on the Ashford Castle Estate. Fiona have been the Accommodation Manager for the past 15 years since the Hotel opened in 2007. Fiona has formed a wealth of knowledge of the accommodation industry whilst working in the hospitality sector. Fiona joined the IASI in 2013 and became a member of council in April 2022.
Treasurer
Kate studied Hotel Management in Shannon College and fell in love with Accommodation while on placement in Switzerland. While finishing her degree Kate was lucky to find a job as an Accommodation Supervisor. From there, Kate’s career took her from 5-star hotels in London, Dublin, Edinburgh and for brief stint on a train. Kate’s love for her work comes from her passion to work with her team, her drive to exceed standards and desire to ultimately deliver to guests the highest quality service and experience.
Kate has been a member of the IASI for several years and is our Association Treasurer. Kate’s current venture is managing the accommodation services on behalf of the University of Limerick.

Sharon graduated from Athlone Institute of Technology after studying Tourism Business and Management. Sharon’s background was in food and beverage and had worked in a variety of 3, 4 and 5 star properties throughout Ireland. Sharon joined Ryan’s Galway as a Duty Manager and during the hotel’s growth was promoted to Accommodation Manager.
In 2019, Sharon took on her current role as Group Accommodation Manager for the Connacht Hospitality Group which includes The Connacht Hotel, Hyde Hotel and The Residence Hotel, a role in which she enjoys immensely.
One of Sharon’s favourite aspects of IASI is the well-appointed courses that are ran for its members. Sharon feels the courses provide a great opportunity to develop your skill set and is an excellent opportunity to meet likeminded people.
Jolanta is originally from Poland and moved to Ireland in 2006 where her career in hospitality began.
Jolanta’s career began as an Accommodation Assistant in Flannery’s Hotel Galway, where she found and formed her passion for accommodation services. Within six months, Jolanta was promoted Head Supervisor where she fulfilled the position for six years.
From 2012, Jolanta has had the pleasure and privilege to work as an Accommodation Manager in a variety of 3, 4 and 5 star Luxury properties. During this time, Jolanta worked on improving her skills, education, and networking within the industry.
Jolanta became a council member in 2019. Jolanta feel the IASI membership allows her the opportunity to connect with passionate and hardworking individuals within the industry and feels the IASI are a continued support to her.
Jolanta currently works for the Press Up Hospitality Group as the Executive Head of Accommodation, she has the pleasure of running the department in their new 4-star property, The Dean Hotel Galway.

Dana has an array of experience from managing Student Accommodation (Dublin City University) and a variety of Hotel Accommodation Departments. Dana’s experience includes working with Conrad Dublin, Jurys Inn, Dunboyne Castle and her current role is in Ireland’s first Hyatt Hotel – Hyatt Centric the Liberties, Dublin.
Dana has a passion for people, team building and development. Dana is very proud of her team achievements, as they most recently won IASI Gold and Supreme Award. Dana’s aim is to assist in transforming hotel operations by implementing sustainable actions such as Green Tourism Business and Eco Label Certifications. Dana enjoys being a member of the IASI immensely and look forwards to being a part of the association for years to come.
Jared was the Accommodation Manager at the Cork International Hotel from 2013 to 2018 and then ventured to the Kingsley Cork from 2018 to 2022. Jared is a proud member of the IASI since 2013 and joined the council in January 2018. Jared advocates for improving the work life of all accommodation Staff. He believes by improving the daily running’s of the business in anyway possibly will help lead to improving and maintaining high standards whilst offering his team better work/life balance. Jared believes the most dangerous words in business are “Because we’ve always done it that way”.
Jared is the current General Manager of the Cork Airport Hotel since April 2022.
Council Member
Ramona began her career in 2001 as Accommodation Assistant at Red Cow Moran Hotel and has since then worked her way up the ladder to Accommodation Assistant Manager.
Ramona was introduced to the IASI by her Accommodation manager, where she attended various events. She developed an interest in what the association had to offer and is an active member of the Council. Ramona enjoys being apart of the IASI, as it offers her the opportunity to meet new people in the same industry while learning new skills and sharing experiences.
Ingrid’s very first job was in a hotel, once immerse in the environment she realised it was to be her career path.
Ingrid went on to study Hotel and Catering management in DIT and GMIT. Ingrid has worked in numerous establishments in Dublin and Galway. Here is where she gained a vast experience in different hotel departments and accommodation settings. Ingrid is proud to be the current Accommodation Services Manager in Stewarts Care Dublin.
Ingrid has been a member of the IASI for many years and finds it a great source for knowledge, support and networking.
IIdiko enjoyed growing up in a touristic town and always knew she wanted to work in the hospitality industry. Ingrid studied in the Budapest Business School, where she achieved a degree in Tourism Management and travelled abroad in search of experience and knowledge. Ingrid worked in Greece for several years and learned to speak Greek.
Ingrid travelled to Ireland and began work as an Accommodation Assistant in the Grand Hotel Malahide within the next year was promoted as a supervisor. Since 2014, Ingrid has worked as the Accommodation Manager in the Raheen Woods Hotel Athenry. Ingrid is proud to say her team has won several IASI Gold awards and most sought-after IASI Supreme award.
Ingrid joined the IASI Council in 2020. Ingrid enjoys the opportunity to work with inspiring and talented people. People who are on a mission to improve and provide education while promoting and supporting the Accommodation Departments in all industries.
